This looks pretty neat, and when I say neat it has the possibly being a gamechanger in how you can contribute and interact with web pages that you don’t have control over. You’ll need to grab the Google toolbar for Firefox to get the goods.
The campaign site HBOImagine.com, created by The Barbarian Group, houses more than 40 minutes of film content in a fragmented constellation. Vieiwers can click on an image to activate short and long clips, audio, photos and newspaper clippings. Each time a viewer watches a clip, new footage is unlocked and linked together. Ultimately the goal is to piece together the non-linear story to realize the complete plotline. HBOImagine
This is TAXI’s latest piece in support of the One Laptop Per Child program.
Knowing that animation was going to play a key role in the creation of this short, we worked with The Ebeling Group and XYZ Studios in Australia to create something that was both polished yet innocent and child-like.
The animation was married with actual photographs, giving it a fresh feel and creating life in an otherwise desolate landscape. Much like the song, where each letter of the alphabet is connected to the one before it – each element of the animation, photography and lyrics was dependent on the other to build a fluid story with seamless transitions.

This crew travels to different cities and asks 50 people the same question – a different question in every city. The answers can range from funny to poignant to sad; but they are always compelling. Great music, great editing, minimal camera work. It’s a great lesson for those of us in marketing… a remarkably simple idea made powerful through execution.

TAXI recently got Googled…literally! The lovely folks at Google dropped by our offices as part of the Google Campus program for a lunch and learn. It broke all lunch n’ learn attendance records @ TAXI! It also gave us the chance to lay the groundwork for closer collaboration with Google in the future. After a great presentation, some yummy Mexican food and a constructive Q&A session most people left wanting more. Have no fear as this was the start of an on-going series of collaboration sessions we will conduct.
We also had some cool swag handed out and a draw for a FREE YOUTUBE shirt…congratulations to Marcel Greaux our winner!
