Oh man do I love code. I love HTML, CSS, AS, php, the list of acronyms is long. What do I love more than code? Organs? not quite but I love the idea of taking code that was written for one purpose and transforming it into another experience altogether. An experience that the original coder never intended as a final output.
I present you with CODEORGAN. The simple premise of the site is you input in a URL and hit the “PLAY THIS WEBSITE” button. Wait a tick and then listen to the music that is generated from that sites source code. Amazing right? Don’t believe me?

A co-worker just passed this to me. the mashable article does a good job of explaining it all. Kudos for this project as its one of those 20% of your time projects. Google employees get 20% of their time to dedicate to whatever they want. Similar projects include Google news, Gmail and Google earth.

“With LAIKA, there is finally a font that can seamlessly use the whole spectrum of its cuts. A font that is able to move between its extremes in real time. An interactive font that is able to respond to its surroundings. A font that questions deadlocked dogmas and throws up completely new design questions, and thus has the potential to revolutionise the understanding of digital typography.”
I used to be a font guy, I can appreciate when I see a great font these days, but I’m not up on my font game like I used to be 7 years ago. This LAIKA font is pretty bad-ass. reacts to different forms of input from a control board to a scale, they even hooked it up to a plant. Amongst other things I wish I had made cool stuff like this in school.

Hand From Above encourages us to question our normal routine when we often find ourselves rushing from one destination to another. Inspired by Land of the Giants and Goliath, we are reminded of mythical stories by mischievously unleashing a giant hand from the BBC Big Screen. Passers by will be playfully transformed. What if humans weren’t on top of the food chain? Unsuspecting pedestrians will be tickled, stretched, flicked or removed entirely in real-time by a giant deity.

The Angry WHOPPER!
The creative hits the world today with :30 and :15 TV spots, radio and online driving to burgerking.ca/getangry. Through the use of your webcam and mic you will be challenged to scream in to your computer to see if you are fit or “angry” enough to eat the Angry Whopper. Your anger is then judged and shown on your face while our angry v/o taunts you to try again until you reach the ultimate “Epic Angry Whopper Anger”.
Word on the street is that this is the first commercial use of face-tracking technology in Canada and perhaps the U.S. so needless to say it was a big task.
Great job everyone!
